Dr. Michael Collins
Dr. Michael Collins is the Chief Neuropsychologist of the Clinical Neuropsychology Center. Prior to founding the Clinical Neuropsychology Center, Dr. Collins was the director of Psychology at South University. Dr. Collins graduated from St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, MN, where he earned a B.S. degree in Psychology. He went onto complete a M.S. & Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. As part of his doctoral training Dr. Collins completed a pre doctoral internship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Neurological Institute at North Broward Medical Center. Following completion of doctoral requirements, Dr. Collins completed post-doctoral residencies in; Forensic Psychology and Drug Abuse Intervention at the Watershed Treatment Center and Clinical Neuropsychology at Psychological Testing Associates. The Clinical Neuropsychology Center has been vetted by the National Football League as an evaluation site for sports concussions, and is contracted for expert assessment services with; 11, 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20th Judicial Circuits of Florida, Justice Administrative Commission, Department of Labor, and Vocational Rehabilitation. Dr. Collins accepts ALL major insurances.
Dr. Collins has worked as an evaluator in the field of neuropsychological assessment since 2003. Dr. Collins is also trained in Forensic Examination, Sports Concussion Protocol, and Substance Abuse Intervention. The Clinical Neuropsychology Center is meant to serve as a reflection of the dynamic training in assessment and research Dr. Collins has obtained throughout his academic and clinical career. Dr. Collins has been the primary or co-author on over 20 journal publications in psychology and medical journals, as well as published book reviews, poster presentations and acted as a guest speaker or presenter at conferences and workshops on topics related to Clinical Neuropsychology, Psychopharmacology, Acquired brain damage, Organic Brain Disorders, Evaluation of Psychopathy.
