Achieve Your Peak Performance
BRAIN MAPPING QEEG
LET HOLISTIC CARE RESOURCES BE YOUR BRAIN TEAM!
Our services provides you with a holistic and comprehensive assessment of your brain and a personalized brain training program!
After reviewing your medical records and learning about your concerns, one of our highly qualified technicians may perform a neurological exam to find out all potential causes of your issue. This usually includes special testing of your motor and sensory abilities to determine which components of the neurological system may be contributing to your issue.
Brain Mapping (qEEG)
Brain mapping, also known as quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG), records the brain’s electrical activity at multiple sites on the surface of the scalp. By comparing the results to a database of healthy normal individuals the same age and gender as the client, we are able to develop a treatment protocol that specifies sites on the scalp and brain wave elements to be trained.
What Happens During A Brain Mapping (qEEG)
A Brain Map is a non-invasive tool we use to identify the problem areas of the brain. The qEEG is designed to objectively and scientifically evaluate a person’s brainwave patterns. Think of a qEEG Brain map like a weather map…it provides us with accurate information about the entire brain and where problems may lie.
A brain map is generated by recording of your brain’s electrical activity through tiny sensors at different parts of your brain.
We will record your brain waves with your eyes open for approximately 5 minutes, and with your eyes closed for approximately 5 minutes. We will ask you to sit and relax–limit your movement in the chair, avoid excessive swallowing, and minimize any form of muscle tension as much as possible. It often helps to pretend like you are on the beach or getting a massage.
Later, the results are analyzed to create a multi-color brain map which we will review with you, in person, at your next appointment.
Our comprehensive neurocognitive tests can assess your cognitive function in regards to memory, attention, processing speed, and abstract thinking. By comparing the results to those of other people your age, we can see which parts of your brain are strong and which parts could be improved. We also provide clinical questionnaires for holistic views of a patient’s health.
Cognitive testing is completed three times during the program: once at the beginning, middle, and final assessments. Our testing protocol utilizes scientifically validated, objective, and reliable computerized neuropsychological tests to evaluate your cognitive status with regard to a various mental processes like simple motor performance, attention, memory, and executive function.
Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback that uses your brain wave patterns (obtained via live EEG recording) to help you become more calm and focused. Neurofeedback harnesses your brain’s natural neuroplasticity system to improve your attention, focus, sleep, and mood.
What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is the direct training of the brain in real time using advanced computer technology. Over multiple sessions the computer can tune the brain and teach it to function more efficiently, often with permanent results. Neurofeedback addresses brain dysregulation, which can cause many conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep disorders, migraines, and more.
What happens during a neurofeedback session?
During your neurofeedback session, we will ask you to sit in front of a television screen as a technician attaches sensors to specific locations on your scalp. You may choose to watch any movie or television show that we have available. As you watch, electrodes will record the activity of your brain and the screen will dim or flicker according to these patterns.
Brain coaching is a one-on-one session with your personal, dedicated specialist. During your sessions, you will have the opportunity to talk with your coach in order to find easy ways to enhance your memory, reduce stress, improve organizational skills, and discover creative solutions to your challenging life circumstances.
